Dear Maharaja,
PAMHO AGTSP Thank you for your insightful essay. It has given me many things to consider. I esp like the statement "So a good mind (heart) is the foundation of properly relating, communicating, and learning, and these are the emblems of culture." We see so many instances of 'cultured behavior' breaking down in the advance of Kali-yuga. It is also a good reminder for me, being someone who has had a rocky road with my alternating "commitment to/heavy disinclination toward" cooking all my life! My poor kids! I pray you send your blessings on them!
Hare Krsna!

Interesting subject. A quick note on the flip side of this which may underline the point.

A documentary on television I happened to see lately discussed incidents of "military rape" taking place in the Congo as a genocidal weapon used to destroy the women of an ethnic group; a way of intentionally destroying the society's fabric and that of its future generations by targeting its women.

The report made me think of a verse spoken by Arjuna in the Bhagavad-Gita (Chapter 1, verse 40) "When irreligion is prominent in the family , O Krsna, the women of the family become polluted, and from the degradation of womanhood, O descendant of Vrsni, come unwanted progeny."

Krsna's answer however does clear things up for Arjuna and thankfully has the same potential for each one of us.

All glories to our mothers, both here on earth and beyond.

"Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen"
